Sonjia Bradshaw is a poplar motivational speaker, writer and columnist. She graduated summa cum laude from the University of North Texas with a Communications Degree.
Raised in a Christian home where happy smiles hid closet addictions, Bradshaw never-the-less sensed God’s love. By age twelve, she witnessed her father’s multiple incarcerations, her mother’s broken heart and her sister’s rebellion. When the happy home’s facade shattered, God stepped across the splintered remains and started renovations at the heart level.Through family struggles with addictions, Bradshaw discovered God alone satisfies the deepest yearnings of the human heart.
The proving ground came when Bradshaw found herself homeless at age eighteen. Living in a borrowed vehicle, she joined the 5% of Americans who have experienced hunger because they lack funds to buy food. Stripped of material possessions, Bradshaw experienced a childlike dependence on God. Each can of tuna and every dime for phone calls came from her Heavenly Father’s hands. Bradshaw found God’s hands to be gentle, strong and generous―the perfect resting place.
Bradshaw’s writing success began in high school when she won the Government in Action award for her writing. Award recipients attended conferences in Washington, DC and private consultations with their Senators and Representatives. In college, she contributed to the compilation book, Arete (1991, Valencia College) used nationally among educators for establishing interdisciplinary education programs in institutions of higher learning.
Currently, Bradshaw writes the monthly Charity Section of Denton Lifestyles Magazine (circ. 120,000). For ten years, Sonjia has worked as a staff writer and columnist for Outreach Herald, a quarterly publication of megachurch Denton Bible. Some of her recent articles have appeared in Heritage Magazine, Dallas Theological Seminary’s Connections, Common Ground and Brave Hearts Magazine.
Other published materials include book chapters, articles and marketing literature for top CEO’s and business professionals, such as, Tony Jeary, ARS Group and realtor Jim Striegel (number one Keller Williams realtor in the nation).
Bradshaw loves speaking about God’s unchanging goodness in an uncertain world. Bradshaw also enjoys teaching about the craft of writing. Sonjia, her husband Jerry, and their two children live in Texas.
